Hastings Carnival 2005
On Saturday 20th August, the Hastings Tramways Club took part in the Hastings Old Town Carnival. The club's mini tram, no 10 was on its specially decorated trailer kindly towed by Alan Humphrey in his car, under the slogan of 'Beat the jams, bring back the trams'. We set off at about 4.00pm for the 2½ mile trip. The procession started at the Rock-a-Nore car Park and then set off along the seafront to Robertson Street, through the memorial area and back onto the seafront, along to and up the High Street, over to All Saints Street, down there and back to Rock-a-Nore. The Carnival took about 3 hours to complete with the club filling up 3 buckets with money as well as lots more collected in a net.
